Ria Formosa

Ria Formosa in the Algarve is a beautiful labyrinth of lagoons separated from the sea.

A coastal dunesystem, it is one of the most important nature reserves in the wetlands that link Europe to Subsaharan Africa.
The Ria has an enormous variety of natural habitats that provide refuge for birds, fish and flora.

Within 30 min.you can find fantastic courses like Benamor, Quinta do Ria, Monte Rei and many others. Clubs can be hired in the airport at the arrivals hall.
Biking
The neighbourhood has endless well organized biking routes,some with access only to bikers and walkers. Local roads have quiet traffic, are paved and not hilly.
Kayaking
A good idea is to rent a couple of Kayaks and explore the lagoons, stop to have a swim and continue.You can keep the Kayak on your own yard, 7meters from the water.
Kitesurfing
Kitesurfing is a very fashionable sport in the region as it´s easy to access the no waves zone.There is a school for beginners nearby with equipment for all levels.
Beaches
The most beautiful white sands and shells are waiting for you just opposite your house.The taxiboat leaves just 200m from the house.

As the Nature reserve is full of different kinds of birds such as Flamingos. you might want to bring
your binoculars.
